Joseph A. Rodriguez 

CRNA, Managing Partner, Co-Founder

A Pennsylvania native, Joseph has practicing anesthesia since 2012. After finishing his anesthesia training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Joseph began his practice in Phoenix, Arizona, gaining extensive experience in anesthesia care for the elderly as well as upper extremity and lower extremity regional anesthesia.   Joseph currently practices in Prescott, Arizona, and oversees anesthesia services for numerous facilities throughout Northern Arizona.  Joseph is the Medical Director at Tri-City Surgery Center, and Director of Anesthesia at Prescott Outpatient Surgical Center, both high-volume, multi-speciality ASCs.  In this role Joseph has facilitated numerous new surgical service lines. 

Joseph has been involved in his local community since his youth, becoming an Eagle Scout, serving in his church, is the former President of the Arizona Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and currently participates in government affairs at the state and national level.  

In his personal time, Joseph enjoys strength training, science fiction novels, and spending time with friends and wife of 10 years.

Randy Quinn

CRNA, Managing Partner, Co-Founder

Born and Raised in Thatcher Arizona, Randy Quinn has been a practicing anesthesia since 2009, when he began practicing at Maricopa Medical Center. There he’s had a broad practice including trauma and pediatrics, obstetrics and pediatric dental anesthesia. He became a managing partner in Arizona Anesthesia Solutions shortly after its incorporation and has added invaluable insight into regulation, accreditation, and certification matters.  Randy offers consulting services for ASCs on regulation and accreditation.    He currently serves as the Chief of Anesthesia at Pima Heart Surgery Center in Tuscon, Arizona.

Randy has extensive leadership experience and currently serves as President of the Arizona State Board of Nursing, where he is responsible for a $4.9M budget and overseeing more than 130,000 licensed professionals.  His background makes him a respected voice on regulatory affairs in Arizona.  

Randy married his high school sweetheart, and they have four wonderful children.  He enjoys everything outdoors from riding ATVs, hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting. He likes anything that gives him an excuse to go play in the wilderness.

    Ali J. Baghai 

    CRNA, Managing Partner, Co-Founder

    Originally from the suburbs of Boston, Ali has been a resident of Arizona since 2006. During summers while attending Boston College, Ali worked at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Paul Newman’s camp for children living with terminal and chronic illnesses. His experience at The Hole in the Wall guided him to a career in healthcare, and during his sophomore year transferred his major from psychology to the school of nursing. Ali served as a registered nurse for five years in the intensive care unit and pediatric emergency department at hospitals in Massachusetts, Nevada, California, and Arizona.

    Ali completed his anesthesia training at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona in 2009. Since that time he has provided anesthesia care in a broad variety of settings; from plastic surgery centers to labor and delivery suites, and from dental offices to the trauma room.

    Ali is passionate about safe, accessible, high quality anesthesia care; those are integral values for AzAS. Because of these values, Ali has been involved with AzAS since inception. Mr. Baghai is the immediate past President of the Arizona Association of Nurse Anesthetists, an organization representing over 800 CRNAs.  Ali served as the Chief CRNA leading the anesthesia department at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital for two years before joining AzAS full time.  Ali now oversees AzAS's dental and cosmetic anesthesia services, and is recognized in his community as an expert in dental anesthesia.

    Ali finds his greatest joy in time spent with his family, his wife of 12 years, Kristin, and his two young sons, Brayden and Callen.

      Sharon Gray

      CRNA, Senior Associate

      Sharon has dedicated her professional life to caring for patients in a variety of healthcare settings. A native of Florida, Sharon gained extensive high-acuity experience as a Flight Medic and as a Cardiovascular and Intensive Care RN for the first portion of her career.  She expanded her practice by obtaining her anesthesia education and training as a CRNA, in Pittsburgh, PA and then began her anesthesia practice in New Mexico at the state’s only Level 1 Trauma Center. Over the next 15 years Sharon administered anesthesia and oversaw perioperative care for numerous surgical specialties, in urban and rural settings. 

      Sharon also has extensive association and private-practice leadership experience.  She served as President of the New Mexico Association of Nurse Anesthetists and presided over several legislative achievements, and also served in her national association as Regional Director and Chair of the AANA Finance Committee.   While in Santa Fe, she was the Anesthesia Department Chair in a private hospital specializing in orthopedics, and gained extensive experience in upper and lower extremity regional anesthesia.

      Sharon joins AzAS’s Prescott practice after working the last 5 years in the greater Seattle area. Sharon is married to Scott Gray, a retired CRNA who served as AANA President (1991-92).

      She has one daughter who resides in Colorado. Sharon enjoys international travel and hiking in the great outdoors.

        Aaron Whitley

        DNP, CRNA, CEP

        Originally from Orange County, California but raised in Arizona, Aaron has lived a life of service. Aaron is a decorated combat veteran. At 17 years old he joined the U.S. Army. In 2003 at 19 years of age he was deployed in the initial wave of Operation Iraqi freedom in Taji, Iraq for over a year and a half. Upon his return Aaron attended Grand Canyon University receiving a Bachelors in Science Nursing. Aaron gained experience in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit befpre attending the Chandler Fire Department's Fire Academy. Aaron became a Chandler Firefighter and Paramedic in 2010 where he remains a Firefighter-Paramedic. Aaron has had extensive training in the pre-hosptial setting to include Combat Lifesaver instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support instructor, Paramedic instructor as well as conducting research in pre-hospital care.

        Aaron is also the founder and president of a local non-profit organization that supports line of duty deaths of first responders and military. In 2017 Aaron graduated from the University of Arizona with his Doctorate in Nurse Practice-Nurse Anesthesia.  Aaron proudly joined the AzAS team where he enjoys the independent practice and the personal relationships he can develop in the outpatient setting.

        In his free time, he loves spending time with his wife and two boys.

          Thomas D. Wais, DDS

          Mobile IV Sedation Provider


          Dr. Wais has practiced sedation dentistry for over twenty years. Initially in his career he utilized oral sedation and after years of using that modality chose to pursue advanced training in IV Conscious Sedation. In his own dental practice, Dr. Wais has found IV sedation to be safer, more predictable, and a more pleasant experience for patients than oral sedation. Dr. Wais carries a mobile 1302 permit, allowing him to provide IV Conscious Sedation in any Arizona dental office. Dr. Wais brings a comprehensive educational background and over 40 years of dental practice experience. AzAS is thrilled to have him on our team!

          Dr. Wais is the current president of the local chapter of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology, and practices dentistry part time.  He would be happy to visit your office to discuss your anesthesia needs.

          In his personal life, Dr. Wais and his wife relish in traveling to visit his four young grandchildren in San Diego, they are a delight to him. He enjoys getting outdoors to golf, snow and water ski, and fish.

          Anna Legaspi

          Associate CRNA

          Passionate about helping others, Anna's decision to become a healthcare provider was a natural fit. She graduated with a Masters in Science of Nursing Anesthesia from Northeastern University in Boston, MA affiliated with the United States Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing. She received the U.S. Army Nurse Corp Phyllis J. Verhonick Award - which is presented to an army nurse who demonstrates excellence in research that significantly contributes to nursing and improves patient care outcomes- for her research published in the 2011 American Association of Nurse Anesthesia special research edition.

          After 20+ years of service, she continues to proudly serve as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and has recently joined Arizona Anesthesia Solutions. Her experience includes all areas of surgery at every age from cardiovascular surgery to office based clinic settings. She currently practices at Cochise Eye and Laser In Sierra Vista, AZ.  Anna loves the water, specifically the ocean and spending time with her children, family, and friends.

          Kelly McCormick

          BA, Practice Manager

          Born and raised in central New York, Kelly has been the AzAS Practice Manager since 2015.  Driven to serve people, Kelly earned her Bachelors of Arts in Health and Human Services from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY and began a career in Social Work with Cayuga County.  After serving as a case worker for at-risk youth for four years, she relocated to the Phoenix area and in 2009 she formed a successful private childcare business which she has owned and operated until 2015.  

          In her role as practice manager, Kelly interfaces with facilities, clinicians, and patients, ensuring appropriate anesthesia coverage for surgical care.  In her free time, Kelly enjoys traveling, live music and entertainment, and spending time with friends and family.

          Justin Sharp

          MHA, Business Administrator 

          Justin was born and raised in Arizona and New Mexico.  He is passionate about service and helping others which started at a young age.  Justin is an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.  He credits this accomplishment to setting a foundation for hard work and service to others throughout his life.  Justin earned an Associate of Science degree from Dixie State College of Utah and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Management degree in 2012 from the University of Phoenix.  Justin decided to take his passion for helping others to the healthcare field and went on to earn his Master of Health Administration degree from University of Phoenix in 2017.  Justin worked for the University of Phoenix as a program specialist in their College of Education helping new teachers across multiple states meet state licensure and credentialing requirements.  He also helped run projects and initiatives at the University to ensure compliance to state certification requirements.

          Justin’s favorite pastime is spending valuable time with his wife of 13 years and his 8 year old son.  He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to hike, hunt, fish and camp throughout the state of Arizona.

          Liz Dennison, BA

          An Arizona Native, Liz graduated from Arizona State Univeristy with a Bachelors of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Mathematics.  After her education, Liz founded and ran a private dance company for 8 years, and in addition to starting and raising a family, she continues to serve her community through the charity she founded called "Jakeys Blankies" that provide blankets to children undergoing heart surgery at Phoenix Children's Hospital
          Liz loves time outdoors and spending time with her husband of 19 years and 3 children.
